Bring your goals, dreams, and daily inspiration into view every day.

Vision boards are an incredible tool for planning and creating your year ahead. There are many ways to make one.
First, decide what kind of vision board you want to create. You could make a single board that captures all your goals for the year, or create one for each goal. You could also focus on feelings. How do you want the year to feel? Cozy and quiet, or lively and full of company? What’s your focus? Surrounded by nature and gardens, or a year filled with home projects and new adventures? Looking for love? Envision your dream relationship. Already in one? Imagine new shared adventures and goals for the year together.
You can do the same with a vision board cut out from old magazines, or drawings of your own. You can also make a journal-style vision board using a word of the year. Choose a word that you want to live by for the entire year and commit to it. Your focus is to implement that word and let it guide you. Visualize the word by writing it down daily or weekly, and include reflections on how you’re cultivating it into your life.

Next, start creating. Add your own photos or use ones from Pinterest. I’ve created multiple vision boards, each focusing on different aspects of my life and year. You could even make one for each season. The goal is for your vision board to feel like you want your year to feel, beautiful and inspiring, not overwhelming. It should be a gentle motivator, not a barking dog.
Finally, put your vision board somewhere you’ll see it every day. This is important! Set it as your phone background, print it and hang it in your bathroom, bedroom, or closet, or place it at the first page of your journal or planner. Seeing it daily keeps your intentions visible and motivates you throughout the year.
