A Guide to Experiences to Share and Savor
The holiday season is approaching. I always try to savor each season, but with sales already happening and shipping sometimes delayed, it feels good to get a head start so we can relax later.
This year, I’m leaning into the joy of gifting experiences rather than just things, though I’ll also share a few of our household favorites that make wonderful gifts.
Here’s a little guide filled with a mix of both—special experiences and fun treasures for the ones you love most.
This year I want to make a year long gift with one special experience for each month. On the first of each month, the kids will get to open the corresponding package that will hold the experience. It might be movie tickets, a night at a hotel, directions for a special craft, a special ice cream sundae night,, and other fun things!
The hardest part about gifting an experience is the feeling that the child doesn’t get to physically open anything, which I struggle with myself. I know that the experience is far greater than another toy they won’t use, but it’s so fun seeing them open a present. Here are some experiences that you could gift, with a present to open along side it.
